Product Review: Dock-A-Tot
In the baby world there seems to be an infinite number of products that all claim to be necessities. It can be quite overwhelming when in a baby store to try and figure out what you actually need for your baby. Being that Baby Bird was our first child we had no clue what we needed or what would work best. We ended up sticking to most of the basics but did splurge on a few products that Mama bird had read about. Having had a few weeks to use everything we can definitely say with certainty that the best product we invested in was the Dock-A-Tot.
About the product: “The Dock-A-Tot is a multi-functional lounging, playing, chilling, resting, changing station, and snuggling dock you can take anywhere. It is created in Sweden with a strict emphasis on design and comfort. They have 2 sizes that range from 0-36 months. The Dock-A-Tot has been subjected to rigorous product safety testing and is fully compliant with Canadian and U.S. federal requirements.” We purchased the smaller of the 2 units (the 0-8month one) and it has suited our needs perfectly.
- Great for baby to rest and sleep in
- Supervised tummy time to help build neck strength
- It helps transition baby from crib to bed
- Great for play time with overhead dangling toys
- Can be a changing station
- It is incredibly portable
- 100% breathable
- Perfect Micro climate mean non heat harbouring
- Machine Washable
- It is on the more expensive side ($300-350)
I know it seems too good to be true that it can have all these pros and only one con. Yes, we are biased on this particular product because we love it so much but we do think these are all legitimate points to consider for any new prospective parents.
In our opinion the best part of the Dock-A-Tot is the portability of the product. Being able to put it anywhere is so convenient and makes everything easier for us. The fact that no matter where we are in the house or what we are doing, we can have Baby Bird with us and know that she is safe and sound. We could be working out in the gym, cooking in the kitchen, or cleaning up in rooms around the house all while she is content in the Dock-A-Tot. Definitely give the Dock-A-Tot a try, it is well worth the hefty price tag.
